L'oreal Hair Expertise Everpure

Sunday 6 January 2013

"EverPure Colour Care System: Non-sulphate cleansing for over-processed, coloured hair. Infused with botanical rosemary and juniper oils."

Recently L'oreal had an offer on to request a free sample of their new everpure shampoo for coloured and dry hair, I jumped at the chance as I do love L'oreal as a brand and also because my hair has been dyed within an inch of it's life, for years I'd coloured it dark brown to bleach blonde and I recently coloured it back to ash blonde which matches my natural hair exactly and I really want to start taking good care of it as of now! As you can imagine my hair is very dry and brittle due to over processing so this shampoo suited the needs of my hair, it was healthy for it regarding having no sulphates, and also tailord to help aid the over processed state which it was in. I was eager to try this out as other shampoos which have no sulphates can be really expensive so I prefer to try before I buy. I've read that sulphates tend to be bad for your hair and switching to a non-sulphate cleanser may actually help hair grow as it's better for your scalp, sulpates basically produce the lather in the shampoo etc, don't quote me on this as I've only read it, but for me I'd rather go all natural.

I like the packaging, the bottle is a sort of silvery purple with a bright pink lid and black writing, it also gives all the information you need to know about the product in several different languages which I find to be really considerate (haha)! I think it would look really lovely in any bathroom as it's sleek, looks really professional and it definitely looks more expensive than it really is - only £5.99 retailing from Superdrug. You can also get an intensive mask to go with the shampoo and conditioner, which I personally haven't tried but am tempted to as I feel once a week masks really help with maintaining strength and softness, this retails for £6.99 also from Superdrug.

The formula shampoo is very smooth, and is sort of pearly coloured (shiny white) which I really liked, coloured shampoo's remind me of shower gel (I'm strange, yes). It didn't lather into a bubbly mess due to having no sulphates, I do like having bubbly shampoo as it feels cleaner to me in a way but I can live without bubbles if that means having healthier hair in the long run. The smell is also so lovely, it smells so clean, healthy and fresh! It reminds me of a mix between witch hazel and tea tree, it's definitely herbal which is probably due to the botanical rosemary and juniper oils which it states it has. I really do like this smell, it makes a lovely change from the standard floral and fruity fragrances you normally get, thus I'm pleased with that, who doesn't like a change? The conditioner is super thick and it just plain white, it smooths on easily and also helps detangle your hair so it's easy to comb it through, the conditioner smells the same as the shampoo only slightly stronger, I feel as if I'm at a spa to be honest it just smells so good! When washing it out my hair felt so smooth and soft so I was really optimistic

After use I let my hair dry naturally as I always do as I'm trying to minimize the amount of heat my hair receives  I did notice it was a lot softer and did look less dry and more shiny, people also commented on how lovely my hair smelled. Overall, I like this shampoo and conditioner as I was looking for a treatment like this, although saying that I haven't tried many so I'll have to explore a bit! But for now I'm seriously considering purchasing the full range!

Has anyone tried any of these products or anything similar? I'd love to know!

  8. Have tried a bunch of sulphate-free shampoos. Not L'Oreal's, though. Sulphate-free is always better. Have reviewed a few sulphate-frees on my blog a couple of days ago.
