FOTD - LAZY SUNDAY

Sunday 7 April 2013

L'oreal Infallible Foundation // 2true Concealer // Maybelline Pressed Powder // Maybelline Bronzer // Rimmel Blush // MUA Perfect Brows // Palmers Cocoa Lip Butter // Rimmel Pink Blush Lipstick // MUA Eye Primer // MUA Naked Pallete (2nd and 4th shade) // Rimmel Gel Liner // Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara

I thought I'd do a super quick FOTD for you all as I haven't been posting a lot recently and am trying to get back into the swing of things again!

So, today myself and my mum went out with the Dexter to meet up with the woman who gave him to us and his older brother Barnaby, I wanted to keep my makeup to a minimum and go for a simple but pretty look! I took these photos in the bathroom mirror as I was literally about to rush out of the door! I'm sorry about the poor quality too (haha).

I've also changed my hair slightly, it was pretty messy.. I used a permanent dye to bring it back to a natural colour and I've cut in a slight fringe cut in! Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

Peanut Butter Pupcakes

Friday 5 April 2013

Our puppy Dexter adores his treats and is always keen to try out new ones, so I thought I'd devote some time to baking him some scrumptious pupcakes as a surprise!

I love my dog, so much, he's become a massive part of our lives that we regard him as a part of the family, a little bundle of life and love that is so spoilt and pampered that can't you resist indulging him.

These pupcakes are full of all the things pup's love, lots and lots of peanut butter! I love to bake, especially for other people to enjoy so I thought it would be lovely to make some homemade treats for Dex where I know exactly whats going into them, no nasty additives or anything! Just tasty wholesome ingredients! They're great to share with other pups and dogs too ;)!

So this is Dexter, isn't he cute! I know I did a post about him yesterday but I thought It would be nice to go into some depth as I guess it's relevant to this post! He's become very popular around parks and on the street, we're constantly being stopped so people can pet him and ask about him which he and I both love, what pup doesn't love to be the center of attention?

Dexter is an English Springer Spaniel who is 4 months, still very much a puppy! However I feel he is one of the smartest dogs that I've ever come across, I'm not just saying that because he's mine, he knows an array of tricks: sit, stay ,lie down, high five, spin! He loves to play fetch, run around mad and have his belly rubbed,  but his favorite thing to do is play rough with his bestest friend Ruko! He's also so cheeky, he ignores his own ball to steal other dog's and never gives them back!

Despite all the puppy craziness he's growing into a really wonderful dog, he loves all humans and dogs alike - he also has a keen interest in the cat! He's learning more tricks as time passes and is developing lots of lovely spots and markings, his hair is also starting to get longer and his tail is starting to fan out!

He's so adorable! He has what I like to call 'bed ears' (haha) as they are so fluffy and curly they just puff out and look so, so cute!

He really loved the pupcakes and demolished it in seconds! They're so easy and fun to make your doggie will love them! A really great homemade treat, now for how to make them!

Peanut Butter Pupcakes
Makes: 15 pupcakes Prep Time: 10 minutes Bake Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

1/2 cup smooth peanut butter (unsalted it possible!)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/2 cups wheat flour

For the frosting I just use a small amount of peanut butter with 2 or 3 small treats to decorate.

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Line a muffin tray with about 15 cupcake cases, I'd add a few more just in case you have slightly more batter or how much you fill up the cases, I'd recommend half way.

In a bowl medium or large add the peanut butter, eggs, vegetable oil and vanilla and beat together with a whisk until the ingredients come together to form the mixture.

Sift in the flour and baking soda then using a spatula fold it into the mixture making sure it all comes together nicely. Using an ice cream scoop place the batter into each of the muffin cases.

Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 350 F or until a cocktail stick can be inserted into the cake and be pulled out clean.

Remove from the oven and set aside for a around 5 minutes to cool before placing on a wire rack to cool completely.

You can freeze the pupcakes in the freezer as a treat for hot days! - I can guarantee your dog will love these pup cakes!

I'm Back/New Addition To The Family!

Thursday 4 April 2013

I'd like to start this post of by apologizing for my super long absence these past few months. I've well and truly been M.I.A, so I'd really like to say a massive thank you to all of my followers and also say a massive sorry for not posting in so long, but that is all about to change as I'm back now! I've also changed the name of my blog and gave it a new look, I just felt like a fresh start, I hope you all like it! Over the past months A LOT has been happening, exams and school have been so stressful that I've literally had no spare time to sit at my laptop and get my blog on, school in general has just been pretty stressful! I've also been rather sick too with a bad case of tonsillitis, which luckily they will be getting removed as soon as I get an appointment with ENT.. That pretty much drained all my energy as all I'd just been doing is sleeping and doing not a lot, you kind of lose spirit when you're run off your feet and feeling down.

I do however have a nicer reason for straying, I got a puppy! I bought him by myself using the money that I'd been saving since my birthday, it's so lovely knowing he's truly mine! All the family love him and I did speak to them about it before getting him so we all knew we were ready for him!

So, This is my 4 month old puppy Dexter! Isn't he adorable? He's an English Springer Spaniel who is liver and white, he is so playful and boisterous I've been run off my feet trying to keep up with him, he just loves everyone that he meets and constantly wants to be cuddled! He's so clever he already knows sit, stay, down, paw and spin, all for a treat mind you ;)! He's so full of energy he has 3 walks a day and we meet his best friends Kuro and Ruko in the park for a play. I love this little cutie and he's brought myself and my family so much happiness and love!

This was just a quick post to say that I'm back and to update you all! I was thinking of doing lots of pup related posts and updates on Dexter in the future. I'll be doing a proper post ASAP!

L'oreal Hair Expertise Everpure

Sunday 6 January 2013

"EverPure Colour Care System: Non-sulphate cleansing for over-processed, coloured hair. Infused with botanical rosemary and juniper oils."

Recently L'oreal had an offer on to request a free sample of their new everpure shampoo for coloured and dry hair, I jumped at the chance as I do love L'oreal as a brand and also because my hair has been dyed within an inch of it's life, for years I'd coloured it dark brown to bleach blonde and I recently coloured it back to ash blonde which matches my natural hair exactly and I really want to start taking good care of it as of now! As you can imagine my hair is very dry and brittle due to over processing so this shampoo suited the needs of my hair, it was healthy for it regarding having no sulphates, and also tailord to help aid the over processed state which it was in. I was eager to try this out as other shampoos which have no sulphates can be really expensive so I prefer to try before I buy. I've read that sulphates tend to be bad for your hair and switching to a non-sulphate cleanser may actually help hair grow as it's better for your scalp, sulpates basically produce the lather in the shampoo etc, don't quote me on this as I've only read it, but for me I'd rather go all natural.

I like the packaging, the bottle is a sort of silvery purple with a bright pink lid and black writing, it also gives all the information you need to know about the product in several different languages which I find to be really considerate (haha)! I think it would look really lovely in any bathroom as it's sleek, looks really professional and it definitely looks more expensive than it really is - only £5.99 retailing from Superdrug. You can also get an intensive mask to go with the shampoo and conditioner, which I personally haven't tried but am tempted to as I feel once a week masks really help with maintaining strength and softness, this retails for £6.99 also from Superdrug.

The formula shampoo is very smooth, and is sort of pearly coloured (shiny white) which I really liked, coloured shampoo's remind me of shower gel (I'm strange, yes). It didn't lather into a bubbly mess due to having no sulphates, I do like having bubbly shampoo as it feels cleaner to me in a way but I can live without bubbles if that means having healthier hair in the long run. The smell is also so lovely, it smells so clean, healthy and fresh! It reminds me of a mix between witch hazel and tea tree, it's definitely herbal which is probably due to the botanical rosemary and juniper oils which it states it has. I really do like this smell, it makes a lovely change from the standard floral and fruity fragrances you normally get, thus I'm pleased with that, who doesn't like a change? The conditioner is super thick and it just plain white, it smooths on easily and also helps detangle your hair so it's easy to comb it through, the conditioner smells the same as the shampoo only slightly stronger, I feel as if I'm at a spa to be honest it just smells so good! When washing it out my hair felt so smooth and soft so I was really optimistic

After use I let my hair dry naturally as I always do as I'm trying to minimize the amount of heat my hair receives  I did notice it was a lot softer and did look less dry and more shiny, people also commented on how lovely my hair smelled. Overall, I like this shampoo and conditioner as I was looking for a treatment like this, although saying that I haven't tried many so I'll have to explore a bit! But for now I'm seriously considering purchasing the full range!

Has anyone tried any of these products or anything similar? I'd love to know!

Wednesday 2 January 2013

I'm very happy to announce that I've been nominated for a Liebster Award, it feels so great knowing that people do love what I write and genuinely take an interest! I was taken back when I was reading Holly's  comment on my post mentioning that she had nominated me for an award, I was so surprised. I feel very honored that Holly from Busy Kissing Bees nominated me for the Liebster award!  So what is a Liebster award? An award that is given to bloggers that have less than 200 - 300 followers to help spread the word of their lovely sites full of amazing content that may not be recognized. There are 11 questions to answer from the blogger who nominated you for the award, 11 questions to create that the blogger you nominate will answer. Thank you once again Holly, this really does mean a lot to me so thank you SO much!

Here are the questions that Holly has asked..

1. How old are you?

I am on the right side of 16!

2. where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Hmm, hopefully at university. I'd really love to have a flat of my own preferably with a friend studying journalism  art of law, I really don't have a life plan, oh dear..

3. If you could live anywhere in the world where would you choose and why?

Probably Australia or California because most of my family live out in Australia, it's hot and I love Australian people, they're so friendly! And I love America too, school looks way better, and it's just beautiful.

4. what is your holy grail beauty product?

Definitely my Rimmel gel eye liner, I can deal with having no foundation, lipstick and even mascara, but I live in eyeliner!

5. Name 5 things you couldn't live without.

Family, makeup, my bunny, internet and probably food!

6. Whats your favorite childhood memory?

Ahhh, I have so many! I'd probably have to say the time that my mum and I went to my aunties for a BBQ and it was just amazing, there was a massive blow up slide with a pool at the bottom (the ones you hire out) and a sprinkler, loads of food and all my cousins were there, really sunny too, it was just an amazing day!

7. whats your proudest moment?

Passing my maths exam! I know how boring that seems but I am absolutely terrible at maths, I failed my prelim for it so thought I'd never pass, but surprisingly I did!

Yes, I have 5 piercings. I have my lobes done with two in each and my helix (cartilage). I'm currently planning on getting my rook done and I would love tattoos in the future.

Poppy, simply because it's sweet and girly.

I get to write about the things I love and share it with some really amazing people from all over the world! NOTD: Party Pink Sparkle

Monday 31 December 2012

As you may have seen in my previous post which was about the items that I'd received for Christmas you may recognize this nail paint, and as you thought, yes it is Barry M! My family know that this really is the only nail varnish brand that I use all the time and that I'm growing my collection so they do tend to opt for buying this for me. I thought I'd do a quick post/review on this as most of the other NOTD posts seemed to be a pleaser so I hope you all like this one too!

This shade is called  Pink Silver Glitter and is just so pretty and girly, even just the product sitting in the bottle is just so beautiful, this one is definitely an eye-pleaser due to the fresh pink colour mixed with very sheer silver. It's probably the prettiest colour that I have to date. It builds up well as it only needs 2 coats to really get full coverage and, it really does look fantastic when it is on! It can be used for special occasions such as New Year (which is what I'm using it for right now;)) or just to jazz up a simple outfit. It's really not too bright but enough to make a statement. My only complaint is that it does feel slightly rough like sandpaper which results in it being a nightmare to remove, it also chips so easily which is a pain, although I don't let these things put me off and I love it nonetheless!

What I Got For Christmas

Saturday 29 December 2012

L-R: Chunky Cable Knit Jumper, Acid Wash Petite Skinny Jeans, Creeper Dupes, GEEK T-Shirt, Barry M Nail Paints (see below), The Sims 3 For Nintendo 3DS, Ted Baker Gift Set - Body Lotion, Body Wash And Body Spray (Butterfly), Gold Spiked Necklace, TOWIE Body Lotion And Perfume (Dazzle), Russian Babushka Doll, Wanted DVD.
Gold Mine, Pink Silver Glitter & Denim

I initially had planned on doing a 'Christmas Day' post which would consist of Christmas day itself, unfortunately the day wasn't actually that exciting to be honest and the photos didn't come out as well as I thought they had, therefore I thought that I'd share what I received on Christmas morning as my Birthday Haul (here) seemed to get a good response, I've also seen a few of these posts flying around so why not? I always love to see what other people got as I'm nosy! I also just want to put it out there that this post is not me trying to show off or brag, that's not at all what I'm like so please don't think that! I just want to share the love!

I am so happy with everything that I got this year. I really wasn't expecting what I got, so it was a surprise as I hadn't asked for much at all, I just had no real idea - however I had asked for  Creepers so they really did make my day as I've been after a pair for months now and am so pleased that I finally got them! I had also asked for acid wash jeans from Topshop but didn't expect to get them as I know they are rather expensive. As for everything else my family just guessed, and they definitely guessed well, I'm so, so pleased with what I got I couldn't have wished for more!

If your wondering where anything is from just ask and I'll do my best to find out and reply? What did you all get for Christmas and it's nearly New Year, 1012 has gone so fast!
